Kickback protection

— kickback protection in drills and screwdrivers is necessary for when the drill bit, hole saw, or drill suddenly gets "stuck" in the material, causing the tool to try to jerk sharply in your hands. There are two types — electronic and mechanical. Electronic protection works through sensors: it detects a sudden jerk or overload and almost instantly switches off the motor (sometimes also braking), so the risk of twisting your wrist or pulling the tool off the drilling line is significantly lower, especially in powerful models. Mechanical protection (safety clutch) addresses the same problem in a different way: when sticking occurs, it slips or disengages the drive, preventing the torque from "hitting" the hands; the advantage lies in its simplicity and predictability, but the disadvantage is that the stoppage is usually less “sharp” than with electronics.
