Actually, from the practical side, the only advantage of salt elements is just the low cost. At the same time, their capacitance is low, and the voltage as they are discharged is uneven. So it makes sense to use such batteries only in relatively unpretentious devices that do not consume a lot of energy — such as remote controls or desk / wall clocks. For more serious applications, you should pay attention to alkaline elements (see the relevant paragraph).
