Nickel metal hydride

— a type of battery (see "Type of element"), which appeared as a development and improvement of Ni-Cd technology. The key advantages of such batteries over nickel-cadmium are less tendency to memory effect, more environmentally friendly production and disposal technology, as well as improved voltage uniformity — it does not decrease almost to full discharge. With all this, nickel-metal hydride batteries have retained such advantages as resistance to frost and the ability to tolerate high charge and discharge currents. Their disadvantages are specific requirements for storage conditions and a slightly increased charging time.
