It is especially convenient to store documents, music, videos and photos on it: memory cards are slower than built-in drives and not every tablet allows you to install applications on them, but these moments are not critical for multimedia and documents. In addition, the cards are cheaper in terms of gigabytes of volume, and the user can choose the capacity of such media at his discretion.
Note that there are several types of microSD cards (actually microSD, microSDHC, microSDXC), and not all of them are mutually compatible. This must be taken into account when looking for a memory card for a specific tablet.
