Folding

— a keyboard design geared towards frequent travel and on-the-go work: the body consists of two or three sections with hinge or magnetic mounting, folds up to take minimal space, and protects keys when carried. These models typically connect wirelessly, have a shortened layout, and feature low-profile membrane or "scissor" switches. Sometimes they include a touchpad and multipoint for quick switching between a smartphone, tablet, and laptop. Compared to compact 60-75% monolithic keyboards, foldable ones offer superior mobility but lack in rigidity and base stability; however, they are much more comfortable and accurate for typing than silicone "roll-ups." Practical use scenarios include typing on a business trip, connecting to a tablet in a café, or controlling a TV box or presentation.
