Hardtail

— this type of damping system is an average between rigid and full suspension and combines the features of both options. On the one hand, the hard tail provides good efficiency on the pedals and a “sense of the road”, on the other hand, it copes bumps very effectively. The disadvantage is the increased weight of the bike (due to the presence of a shock absorber), as well as the fact that for each of the advantages mentioned, such a suspension still loses somewhat to specialized varieties (although some models may provide the possibility of turning into a full-fledged rigid due to the fork lockout). At the same time, the versatility has made the hardtail the most popular option in many types of modern bikes.
