TVs Sony series X70 (UltraHD 4K)
Sony X70
A family of entry-level 4K TVs with Direct LED backlighting that compete with Samsung and Philips 7-series TVs, as well as the LG U line. Like most competitors, they offer the classic gentleman's set of any more or less high-quality smart TV 2022- 2023. This list includes a smart shell based on Google TV with voice control, support for Chromecast and AirPlay 2, a built-in digital tuner, a current set of connection ports and a proprietary entry-level Sony X1 processor with a pack of proprietary image optimizers.
In particular, the X-Reality PRO upscaler built into the processor quite efficiently pulls the original video resolution from HD or 2K to the required 4K. Support for TRILUMINOS technology allows the processor to process colors and shades better, making them more saturated, vibrant and at the same time realistic. And the latest iteration of Motionflow technology makes images clearer and smoother, especially in highly dynamic scenes with a lot of fast-moving objects and details.
In terms of image quality, this is a purebred middle class with wide viewing angles, a large margin of brightness and natural colors. However, compared to modern OLED screens, the Sony X70 series TVs clearly lack black depth, the 60 Hz refresh rate does not quite meet the requirements of modern gaming, and the high latency makes them not the best option for the role of a gaming monitor. Otherwise, these are excellent TVs for their price with support for video content with extended dynamic range (HDR10 and Dolby Vision), built-in Dolby Atmos/DTS audio decoders, a built-in Wi-Fi 5 wireless receiver and fairly high-quality 20-watt speakers. The choice of diagonals starts from 43 inches, ending at 75 inches.
