A family of advanced 4K smart TVs from Sony with large, high-contrast OLED screens (note: a diagonal of at least 55 inches), an innovative Cognitive XR intelligent image processor and a must-have built-in subwoofer. All of them are fully capable of reproducing popular standards with an extended dynamic range of brightness (HDR10 and Dolby Vision), support the function of wireless video playback from gadgets (Chromecast, Miracast, AirPlay) and work under the control of a smart shell based on Android TV with built-in voice assistants Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

The foundation of the average Sony A80 panel is an OLED matrix with a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels. An array of individual self-illuminating pixels delivers high peak brightness, incredible contrast and superior color reproduction to accurately display the 30-bit color gamut (98% DCI-P3). At the same time, the screen responds responsively to user commands thanks to low input lag and refreshes the image at a frequency of 120 Hz, which has recently become the industry standard for gaming. Thus, such a screen is ideal for beautiful and demanding games on PC/Xbox/PS5 with realistic lighting, 4K textures, complex post-processing and HDR enabled.

All representatives of the A80 line are equipped with an advanced cognitive processor of the Cognitive XR series, which imitates the functioning of the human brain, processing images point by point, and not frame by frame, like Sony X1 chips. Unlike old and primitive image enhancement algorithms, Sony XR algorithms work only on those image elements that really require improvement. It's important to note that these "enhancers" work together in synergy to enhance source image quality to 4K, optimize brightness and contrast, improve color quality, and improve readability of fast, dynamic scenes with lots of moving objects.
