A wide-angle prime lens produced in collaboration with Leica for a cavalry of mirrorless cameras with a Micro 4/3 image sensor. The model has an equivalent focal length of 18 mm (taking into account the 2x crop factor) and a fast aperture of f/1.7. We assembled a lens in a compact and lightweight body with dimensions of 60.8x52 mm, weighing about 130 g. The optical design of the Panasonic 9mm f/1.7 ASPH DG Summilux uses 12 elements in 9 groups.

Among them, two aspherical and two extra-low dispersion lenses, as well as one element with an ultra-high refractive index, are marked in a separate line. The design of the lens aperture is 7-blade (rounded). The lens provides the ability to focus from a distance of 9.5 cm to the subject. The autofocus drive “under the hood” of the model works smoothly and silently, which will come in handy when recording video. And in the manual focusing mode, the user has the right to choose between a linear and non-linear course of the focusing ring. At the same time, the effect of "breathing" is minimized on the lens. It is allowed to install light filters with a diameter of 55 mm on the front lens of a wide-angle fix.
