I bought the 14700k over a year ago. No problems have occurred in that time. Of course, the microcode was immediately updated to 0x12B. It heats up to 60-70℃ while gaming. It passes stress tests: Cinebench 2023 scores almost 35,000 in multithreading. Undervolting has naturally been applied. The photo shows the temperature and consumption without load. Price (compared to newer models), speed, stability I haven't found any in a year of use. |
It is not yet known whether I have a deficiency or not. 35% load - goes beyond 100 degrees K is cheaper than KF (surprisingly), which will be a small bonus when the discrete is disabled. Very high temperatures at medium loads, without overclocking. TVB is off, watt package around 250. Water cooling. I will check if it fits the pump properly - will edit the comment later. Additionally, the issue with the quality of 13th and 14th generations is still unresolved (25% defect rate of all processors, read the news), and I am not sure if I don't have an oxidized defect. |

Old Friend
The release of the Intel Core Ultra lineup in 2024 received mixed reviews: on one hand, single-core performance was improved, PCIe 5.0 support was added, and the neural block capabilities were significantly expanded, on the other hand, multithreading is absent, and the increase in FPS in games turned out to be minimal. In this scenario, the time-tested Core i7-14700F became an excellent alternative.
20 Physical Cores, 28 Virtual Threads
The Core i7-14700F became one of the most successful Intel releases in recent years: 20 cores (8P + 12E), 28 threads, automatic overclocking up to 5.6 GHz, PCIe 5.0 support, and compatibility with both DDR4 and DDR5 memory. In gaming tests, it shows excellent results — paired with graphics cards like the GeForce RTX 4080 or 5080, it lags behind the flagship Core i9-13900K by only 3–6%, while being less hot and approximately 20% cheaper.
Top Performance in Games
The Core i7-14700F has repeatedly demonstrated that it can provide a level of performance comparable to Hi-End processors from three years ago. It easily handles the tasks of modern games and will satisfy even the most demanding users. The only caution is not to skimp on cooling and a quality power supply: the chip runs quite hot and requires stable power delivery.
