The Last Dinosaur

Intel Core i5-14400F is a processor with 10 physical cores and 16 virtual threads, but without an integrated graphics card, as evidenced by the F index. It belongs to the Raptor Lake Refresh family, the latest for the LGA 1700 socket and with support for two types of memory: DDR4 and DDR5. It is equipped with a simple boxed cooler, but those who like silence will not like it.

Heating above normal

After all, the processor emits 65 W of heat declared by the manufacturer only at a low base frequency. Whereas in Turbo Boost auto-overclocking mode up to 4.7 GHz, the TDP level rises to 148 W, which requires an air tower with a large fan. The processor has a 6+4 core configuration, that is, six powerful cores and four energy-efficient ones.

Artificial intelligence

Additional kernels are used for undemanding background tasks, such as a music player, antivirus and instant messengers. The 14400F has a separate Intel GNA neural module, which, however, will be replaced with a more functional NPU in the next generation of Arrow Lake processors. And Intel plans to completely abandon the AVX-512 instruction set, which has not found popularity.
