The latest incarnation of the AORUS ELITE motherboard, based on Intel's advanced Z790 chipset, unveiled in late 2022. The model belongs to the flagship level, is equipped with advanced circuitry and advanced tools for monitoring and overclocking the system (Q-Flash, Clear CMOS, UC BIOS, etc.), and its network card is equipped with an advanced wireless adapter that supports the Wi-Fi 7 standard.

According to the manufacturer, the board will be the optimal choice for gamers planning to build an advanced system for high-definition games, as well as for overclocking enthusiasts who require a high-performance and reliable overclocker-level solution. Gigabyte Z790 AORUS ELITE X WIFI7 is equipped with an LGA 1700 processor socket designed to accommodate Intel 12th, 13th and 14th generation Pentium, Celeron and Core processors (Alder Lake, Raptor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh).

The presence of an extremely productive 19-phase makes it the optimal choice for Hi-End systems with Core i9-caliber processors and GeForce RTX 3080/3080/4080/4090-level video cards. Other components do not lag behind the power system. So, due to the transition from the third generation PCI-E bus to the fourth generation, the board can work with reactive M.2 SSD drives that operate at speeds from 5000 to 75000 MB/s.

Installation of more conventional SSD and HDD drives using SATA 3 connectors is also supported (note: there are 6 of them in total). Well, traditionally for the LGA 1700 platform, the board boasts 4 connectors for connecting high-speed DDR5 RAM modules with a clock frequency of up to 8266 MHz. The maximum amount of RAM compared to DDR4 boards has increased from 128 to 192 GB. The slots for video cards are reinforced with reinforced fiber and equipped according to PCI-E 5.0 standards. A specialized Intel 2.5GbE network controller with a bandwidth of 2.5 Gbps and a built-in wireless receiver with support for Wi-Fi 7 and backward compatibility with earlier versions of the standard is responsible for processing game traffic. For high-quality sound output, an 8-channel audio subsystem Realtek ALC1220-VB is used.
