A well-equipped and functional ATX format overclocker motherboard based on the 2020 AMD B550 chipset. Equipped with an AMD AM4 processor socket, it is positioned as the top-end model of the popular Gigabyte AORUS family of gaming and overclocking products, designed for enthusiasts who prefer maximum reliability and durability. Designed for use in high-level gaming and overclocking configurations.
Supports installation of Ryzen 3000 processors (Matisse/Matisse Refresh, 7nm) and Ryzen 4000 APUs (Renoir core, 7nm). Unlike the previous generation boards (based on the B450 chipset), it supports the PCIe Gen 4.0 system interface, which makes it possible to increase the speed of data exchange with high-speed NVMe SSDs by almost 100%. The Gigabyte B550 AORUS MASTER motherboard received a super-powerful 16-phase power subsystem, the capabilities of which will be in demand during overclocking experiments. Equipped with four slots for DDR4 DIMMs, supports up to 128 GB of RAM, which is more than enough for gaming, streaming, any household and professional tasks. To work in a cable network, there is a high-speed Realtek 2.5GbE LAN controller (wired connection speed up to 2.5 Gbps), a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11n / ac / ax) module is responsible for data transmission over the air.

Overall, a good motherboard that will be just great if the manufacturer fixes the USB issue with a BIOS update. - Honest 16 power phases without doublers: 14 for the processor, 2 for everything else - Solid heatsink on the VRM - At the time of review publication (BIOS version F11i), there is an issue with data synchronization on the USB bus. This may only occur when installing a Ryzen 5000 and XMP memory profile. USB devices disconnect and reconnect roughly once every second. Input from the keyboard and mouse is periodically interrupted. This is resolved by disabling CPU C States in the BIOS. It is said that AMD is aware of the problem and is already working on its solution. Processor 3900XT. (12/24) If you insert 2 or 3 SSDs, then your video card will work with a PCIe x8 bus. It seems there is a lack of PCI lines. This is not mentioned anywhere. The cost-saving on components is most apparent in this model. It is the illegitimate child of a more advanced board. That's why it doesn’t have a true 4x slot, but a pseudo 16x one, in order to save on designing and manufacturing with a 4x slot. There's nowhere to apply PCIe 4.0 yet. Let's see how the RTX 3080 works on 3.0 and 4.0. I think there will be no difference, but in a couple of years, it will be noticeable. Wi-fi flies at 5GHz. There is no router with 6th. Deception number 1. Don't look at the fact that there are 3 M.2 slots... There is only 1!!! If you insert 2 or 3 SSDs, then your video card will work with a PCIe 8x bus, not 16x. Deception number 2. PCIe 16x - 3 pieces. NO, again, there's only one!! The other two are 4x, with a 16x form factor. Even the contacts are only present on 1/3 of the connector. Deception number 3. The motherboard does not support 64 GB of RAM at a frequency of 3200 MHz. But it is claimed to handle 128 GB at this frequency... G-Skill trident z RAM (2x16 GB, 3600 MHz). It did not start at 2666, 3000, 3200, 3600 MHz, only at the default 2133 MHz. Switched the modules to HyperX Predator (4x16 GB, 3200 MHz). So far, only 3 out of 4 have started at 3200 MHz, and all 4 only work at 3000 MHz... Even though both the processor and the motherboard claim to support these frequencies. |
