The processor, which replenished the Ryzen 5 Picasso series in 2019, combines four processing cores on a 12-nm process technology and a Radeon RX Vega 11 graphics chip with a frequency of 1.4 GHz on a single chip. The clock frequency of the CPU is 3.7 GHz, and this value can be increased to 4.2 GHz thanks to proprietary overclocking technologies. The AMD Ryzen 5 Picasso 3400G BOX processor supports multi-threading, which increases the total number of command execution threads to eight.
The model is equipped with a cooler that effectively handles with heat dissipation (heat dissipation at the level of 95 W). The manufacturer announced the use of a new TIM thermal interface: instead of plastic pastes, solder is used. An unlocked multiplier paired with an auto overclocking mechanism will ensure safe overclocking. Other features of the "engine", designed to build an entry-level gaming PC, include the presence of 4 MB of cache memory, compatibility with DDR4 RAM with a frequency of up to 2933MHz, and the presence of 8 PCI-E 3.0 lanes.

Zen 2 architecture

Compared to previous generations, the new product is equipped with a halved cache (4 MB L3), but at the same time it has decently increased frequencies. Namely — 3.7 GHz by standard and 4.2 GHz in boost. The multiplier is also unlocked, which means manual overclocking is possible on motherboards starting with the B350 chipset. However, older AM4 motherboards will require a BIOS update. If we compare the chip with its predecessor 2400G, then the new product produces an average of 8% more power due to increased clock frequencies. Plus, the integrated graphics core Vega 11 is slightly overclocked, which will be a plus for those who do not plan to buy a separate graphics card, but do not mind sometimes running online in Fortnite or CS:GO.
Execution cannot be pardoned
It is difficult to give an unambiguous answer to the question “to buy or not” now, since the same 10% will have to be paid for these same 8 – 12% of additional capacity. Unlike the ninth generation of Intel chips, AMD did not drastically drop the prices of its new processors.
