Available 4-core processors based on the Zen 2 microarchitecture (Matisse core, 7nm). Designed for installation in motherboards with AMD AM4 processor socket and 300/400/500 series chipsets. Suitable for equipping multi-purpose home systems, simple entry-level workstations and low-cost gaming configurations. Unlike their predecessors (Ryzen 3 with Zen microarchitecture, Summit Ridge core, 14 nm manufacturing process), these CPUs support proprietary Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) multi-threading technology, due to which each physical core is perceived by the operating system as two separate virtual ones.
Thus, AMD Ryzen 3 Matisse processors show much higher performance in optimized multi-threaded applications (photorealistic rendering, video encoding and processing, code compilation, archiving). In addition, architectural improvements and a more advanced workflow with 7nm standards have allowed higher clock speeds. Another innovation is support for the high-speed PCIe Gen 4.0 system interface, available on boards with 500-series chipsets. I purchased it with the thought that someday I would buy a more expensive and powerful processor on the AM4 socket. This processor surprised me with its performance and the ability to overclock up to 4.7 MHz (I didn't try further, but I have a hunch that it's not the limit). Compared to my old Intel 2500s processor, now I can play games with the browser open, and not only that—at the same time, a virtual machine was running with a server, while on the home OS, a script was processing a database, and even with all this running, I could play Overwatch or Cyberpunk on ultra and medium settings without any lag (the graphics card isn't very strong—1060 3GB). choose a well-ventilated case. Pulls everything off with flying colors, some say it's too hot, I overcame this by installing it in a well-ventilated case, 1 120mm fan for intake, 3 for exhaust.
