First of all, it should be noted that regardless of the model, the difference between the black and white version is only in colour, there are no differences in technical characteristics.

Choosing an iPad for yourself, you should first of all decide which diagonal you need at 10 or 7.9". In the first case, you will get a more massive and heavy device, much more convenient for solving everyday tasks, such as typing, surfing the Web, games, etc. The smaller diagonal may not be as convenient, but the iPad mini is much lighter and more compact, it can even be placed in the inner pocket of some jackets. It should be noted that the diagonal of the screen has almost no effect on the duration of operation from a single battery charge, it is approximately the same for all iPads.

Despite the fact that the iPad 2 is already completely outdated, Apple still sells it. After all, the technical hardware of this model is more than enough for the vast majority of users who do not play modern three-dimensional games. But the cost of the iPad 2 is quite affordable, which ensures its popularity. However, only versions with a democratic 16 GB are now available, which, however, is quite enough for undemanding users (and others will not purchase an outdated model). Both 3G and non-3G versions are sold (more advanced iPads already have 4G modules installed). However, at the beginning of 2014, sales of the iPad 2 decreased sharply. Mainly because of the latest iOS 7, which does not work very well on outdated devices.

iPad mini Retina has not only a smaller diagonal, technically it is also weaker than its "big brother". The main emphasis here was on mobility. The company understands perfectly well that a true gamer will still choose a model with a 10-inch screen that is more convenient for games, which means that there is no need to increase the cost of the iPad mini and reduce its battery life using the most advanced components. You can recommend the iPad mini only to those users for whom the size and weight of the device they use are fundamental, in everyday life (and especially for games) the 10-inch version of the device is still more convenient.

And finally, the iPad Air. This is the most performant version of the iPad, easily coping even with very "heavy" applications. One of the main advantages of this device is a Retina display with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. At the same time, it is impossible to see individual pixels with the naked eye, which has the most positive effect on the quality of the displayed image. After Retina screens, the screen of the iPad 2 or the first version of the iPad mini looks very grainy. Of course, if your financial condition allows and you are not too worried about the compactness of the device, then you should purchase the iPad Air.

As for the amount of installed memory, practice shows that it is better to purchase a model with as much volume as possible. After all, the size of modern applications is constantly increasing (some games "weigh" about 2 GB), but somewhere you will need to record all kinds of personal content — audio, video, photos, e—books, etc.

Should I take a model with a 4G module? It all depends solely on your needs, on how important it is for you to have universal access to the Network. Sometimes the decision to prefer a larger amount of memory looks much more correct. Especially against the background of the fact that the quality of mobile Internet in our country often leaves much to be desired.
