— emerald belongs to the precious stones of the first order — the most expensive (the same category includes ruby, sapphire and diamond). Both natural and artificial emeralds can be used in jewelry; the first have a pure green colour and a high refractive index, creating a lot of iridescent reflections, synthetic stones have a bluish tint and less reflections. However, even an artificial emerald is a rather expensive and status stone, and even a natural one is even more so.
