Platinum

— one of the most expensive noble metals widely used in jewelry. Unlike gold and silver, jewelry platinum is usually a pure metal with a minimum amount of impurities (fractions of a percent). This metal has an even grayish-white colour, darker than that of silver or white gold, and is excellent for framing precious stones, especially diamonds. Due to its colour and significant weight, platinum is considered a predominantly "male" metal. From a physical point of view, it is notable for its high hardness and resistance to corrosion — which, in turn, allows jewelry to retain its luster for a very long time and protects them from scratches. At the same time, in the post-Soviet space, platinum jewelry has not received much distribution — in particular, because they are several times more expensive than similar items made of white gold or silver, and outwardly they do not differ much.
