— gold is the "classic of the genre" for expensive jewelry designed to emphasize the wealth and status of the owner. There are more expensive precious metals (platinum, for example), but gold is also expensive, and it is very common, so the range of gold jewelry is also very extensive. However, pure gold is not used in jewelry — it is too soft for this; "gold" jewelry is made from gold alloys with various additives designed to improve the characteristics of the material and reduce its cost.

Such alloys may have a different composition and sample. Variants of the main compositions are described in detail in the paragraph "Colour of the material"; as for the sample, it depends on the gold content. Jewelry classics are 585 and 750 samples (58.5% and 75% gold, respectively); such alloys are quite hard and strong due to the abundance of additives and at the same time retain their luster for a long time and do not tarnish, thanks to a rather large amount of gold in the composition.
