Lever

One of the advantages of such mechanisms over screw ones is the high speed of work: clamping and releasing the workpiece occurs almost instantly. On the other hand, when the lever is moved, the stroke of the sponge turns out to be very small, and the lever mechanism itself does not allow you to adjust the vise / clamp for different sizes of workpieces — for this you need to provide additional devices (movable jaws with a lock) or use a combined lever-screw mechanism ( see the relevant paragraph).
