2-axis

— the design used in the vise (see "Type"). The jaws of such a tool can be rotated in a horizontal plane and tilted (left or right or back and forth, depending on the model). This allows you to choose the most convenient position of the jaws for work with the workpiece clamped in them. The design often provides for scales for determining the angle of rotation.
