The Taiwanese brand Seasonic has been one of the main players in the computer power market for many years. In many ways, it is worth thanking him for the creation of the current certification system, power supplies with efficiency above 80% and virtually silent cooling fans on sliding bearings. However, the opportunity to talk about such things usually appears in the context of the brand's flagship products, but the G12 GC series power supplies are a story about something else.

These are relatively inexpensive (note: by the standards of Seasonic itself) power supplies, in which there is nothing superfluous. They are qualitatively assembled, they use high-class circuitry, and many of the company's proprietary developments are on board, but they do not have the wow factor that Seasonic PRIME and to a lesser extent FOCUS series power supplies are famous for. The G12 GC series power supplies comply with the 80+ Gold standard, providing high efficiency in the region of 87 – 90% (note: depends on the load level). Such efficiency, combined with active power factor correction, allows the power sources of this line to reduce energy losses, which has a positive effect on electricity bills. As for the choice of power, you can find options for 550, 650, 750 and 850 watts on the market, which covers the needs of most PC owners.

In addition to high efficiency, the G12 GC power supplies use the LLC resonant converter design and the industry-leading intelligent silent fan control system called S2FC, which is more or less used in all brand products. This thing is designed to find the optimal thermal circuit that provides a temperature-noise balance. Unnecessarily, the cooler can behave passively and not make unnecessary noise. The rustling of the blades becomes distinct only at a load above 75%, but even in this mode, the power supply remains virtually silent.
