Media players with USB-C

USB-C

— a relatively new type of USB connector. It differs from the classic USB-A (see the respective section) primarily due to its smaller size and convenient reversible design; moreover, USB-C makes it easier to implement advanced connection standards and increased power delivery.

Regarding functionality, USB-C is often used for connecting flash drives and other content storage devices for playback. However, there are other possible applications. In some models, USB-C plays an auxiliary role and is intended only for managing settings from a computer. Additionally, this connector can support an Alternate Mode, where other interfaces are implemented through the USB-C hardware port—such as DisplayPort or HDMI for video streaming, or Thunderbolt for connecting certain accessories. (In media players, this mode is currently almost unused, but the situation may change in the future.) Therefore, when choosing a device with USB-C, it is worth paying attention to the specific applications of such an interface as stated by the manufacturer.
