The point of the HDD pocket in such cases is to supplement the device with ample storage suitable for a vast collection of movies, music, etc., and limit the use of the SSD to applications. Among other things, this allows you to reduce the load on the solid-state module, as a result — to increase its service life, reduce heat generation and increase system performance.
