— a versatile digital interface designed specifically for high-definition video and multi-channel audio. Almost any modern screen (TV, monitor, etc.) with HD support has at least one HDMI input. Accordingly, for media players and TV receivers, the presence of an HDMI output is almost mandatory — this is the main way to connect such electronics to external screens.

Note that the number of HDMI can be different: most often there is only one such output, but there are devices with two connectors (or even more). In the latter case, specific options for using additional HDMI are possible. For example, in some models it is not an output, but an input for connecting external signal sources — for example, a second player with support for optical discs, if the main device does not have this function. Other models provide the ability to split the signal into audio and video, with the broadcast of each component via its own HDMI cable — this can be useful, for example, to output the signal to a TV and a high-end audio system with an HDMI input at the same time.
