Beamforming Wi-Fi equipment
Beamforming
— technology that allows you to amplify the Wi-Fi signal in the direction where the receiving device is located (instead of broadcasting this signal in all directions or in a wide sector, as is the case without the use of Beamforming). The position of the receiving device is determined automatically, the user does not need to deal with additional settings. This feature allows you to significantly improve the quality of communication even if the user device does not support Beamforming. And many models of Wi-Fi equipment are capable of amplifying the signal in several directions at once (usually, several antennas are provided for this). Also note that the directional transmission function is officially part of the Wi-Fi 5 standard — more precisely, in earlier versions of Wi-Fi, several different Beamforming formats were used at once, and in Wi-Fi 5 unified standards for this technology were introduced. At the same time, not every device with Wi-Fi 5 support is capable of generating a directional signal.
