Corsair Mac Memory is RAM specifically designed for use in Apple laptops based on Intel processors. A key feature of the Corsair Mac Memory series is that it is pre-tested and certified to be compatible with Mac. This means that the memory meets the specific requirements in terms of frequencies, timings and operating voltage that Apple sets for its devices.

The Mac Memory family includes DDR3 and DDR4 RAM sticks made in the standard notebook SO-DIMM form factor. Operating frequencies for DDR3 modules are usually in the range from 1333 to 1600 MHz, with a voltage of 1.5 V. In turn, DDR4 modules have a fixed frequency of 2666 MHz, but the voltage can be 1.2 V or 1.35 V. The choice of available volumes is as wide as possible, almost all options are sold in the form of single, double and combo sets with a volume of 4, 8, 16, 32 and 64 GB. The 64GB kits look especially interesting given that the lower-end 2023 MacBooks still use 8GB of RAM.

It's important to note that RAM upgradeability remains limited to older Mac models that used Intel processors and had individual memory modules available for replacement or expansion. This includes some iMac, Mac mini and MacBook Pro models before switching to Apple Silicon chips. For example, the latest Intel-based MacBook Pro and Mac mini models released in 2020 still allowed RAM replacement, although not all of them. With the advent of Apple M1, M2, M3 SoC chips from the Apple Silicon series, Apple laptops implemented an architecture in which random access memory (RAM) was integrated directly into the chip.
