Such a connection allows you to completely de-energize the entire room at the touch of a button, including and electronics connected to the UPS. Without this function, the uninterruptible power supply would react to a power failure in a regular way and would leave the equipment energized, which in an emergency (for example, in a fire) could end in failure.
