This means they are ideal when the battery needs to power a load for an extended period, discharge almost to zero, recharge, and then provide long-term autonomous power again. However, for standby mode, in which most UPS systems operate (remaining on standby for long periods to provide brief power support in case of a power outage), this technology is not well-suited for several reasons.
