Waterproof acoustic systems
Water protection
— the design includes a water-protected housing that prevents water from reaching sensitive system components, as well as a diffuser with a water-repellent coating. Water protection is considered essential for models intended for outdoor installation, and built-in speakers with this feature can be placed in rooms with high humidity (bathrooms, near pools, etc.).The specific degree of water protection is typically indicated according to the IP standard: with corresponding Latin letters followed by two numerical symbols (for example, IP54, IP67). The numbers indicate the level of protection: the first — from foreign objects and dust (maximum of 6), the second — from water (maximum of 8). The maximum protection level according to this standard is IP68, which means complete waterproofing.
One of the digits may be replaced by the letter "X," which indicates that certification for that particular parameter has not been conducted: for example, an IPX4 device has a water resistance level of 4 but has not been tested for dust protection. It is worth noting that a high level of water protection automatically implies good dust resistance.
