The Patriot P210 is an affordable 256GB SATA 3 SSD based on a low-cost controller and Micron's classic 64-layer 3D TLC NAND Flash. It is oriented by the manufacturer towards the low-cost segment, but even at its low price, it provides a fivefold system acceleration compared to a conventional HDD. The speeds here are traditional for modern solid-state drives operating on the SATA 3 bus: up to 400 MB/s while writing and up to 500 MB/s when reading files. Fans of computer games will also like the drive — the fastest possible start of gameplay and completely imperceptible dynamic loading of parts of the open game world gives a serious advantage over conventional hard drives and at the same time does not lag too far behind high-speed NVMe SSDs. But the speed o...f working with random blocks in the Patriot P210 is not so impressive (50 and 30K IOPS when reading and writing), so this is not the best candidate for working with conditional databases or compiling. SMART and TRIM technologies are supported.

How to choose the right SSDChoosing an SSD with the required speed and good reliability for home, work and gaming
Model overview based on user reviews
The Patriot Memory P210 SSD is a budget-friendly option with good initial read and write speeds, making it suitable for enhancing laptop performance, especially when replacing older HDDs. Users appreciate its affordable price and the boost in system efficiency it provides. However, the SSD lacks a temperature sensor, and some users have reported a drop in speed when the disk is filled beyond 70%. While the advertised speeds are generally met, there are instances where the actual read speed is slightly lower than claimed. The drive's TBW (Total Bytes Written) is relatively low, which might affect its longevity under heavy use. Some users have experienced reliability issues, with one reporting a complete failure after a year. Overall, the Patriot P210 is a decent choice for those on a tight budget, but potential buyers should be aware of its limitations and consider spending more for a more reliable SSD if long-term durability is a priority.

normal model, nothing special

Bought for a laptop, for Windows, to replace the worn-out hard drive. After installing Windows, the disk space actually shows 238 GB, so I started to Google - why? It turned out that the rest is reserved space, and that's normal for all SSDs. Downloaded and installed DiskMark, and here it's strange! It shows 470 for reading and 420 for writing, meaning the reading is below the claimed 500, but writing is above. I also wanted to check the temperature but found out there's no temperature sensor in it, most likely cut out to reduce cost. Another issue with many SSDs, and this one is no exception - after the disk filled up to 70%, the read and write speed dropped to around 200 on average.
Price, got it with a discount at Telemart, received a 3-year warranty. High speed.
There is no temperature sensor.

Patriot P210 with a capacity of 256 GB - entry-level SSD
2 June 2022
At the end of April this year, I decided to speed up my Acer Nitro 5 AN 515-43R7LU laptop by replacing the standard Toshiba MQ4ABF100 HDD with a 2.5" SSD Patriot P210, which fit perfectly into the laptop case instead of the regular hard drive. The Patriot P210 significantly boosted the laptop’s performance and even expanded its functionality, allowing the Acer Nitro Sense app to launch almost instantly (with the Toshiba HDD, this app wouldn't start at all due to extremely low read speeds). It also reduced the daily full antivirus scan time from 45 to 10 minutes (positively impacting the laptop's efficiency); however, during usage, some drawbacks of the new drive were revealed, such as the discrepancy in actual read speed (440 MB/s versus the claimed 520) and the relatively small TBW resource limit of 120 TB. For typical personal computer or laptop use with daily web browsing and regular updates of all system apps, this resource will last for 20 years and 9 months. Yet, with frequent reinstallation of applications for work or entertainment, the drive's lifespan will decrease to 6 years. As a file safe, the Patriot P210 is a good choice, but installing the OS and favorite applications on it might not be the smartest decision.
No overheating, increased laptop efficiency, enhanced laptop functionality, resilience to accidental drops during use, affordable price, versatility
Comparatively small TBW (120 TB), actual read speed is 8% lower than stated.

not worth taking

it's been about a year of using the SSD, and Victoria says the average read speed is 90-100 MB/s. That's crazy. My old HDD is about the same in terms of performance.
