A compact and lightweight full-frame lens with a fixed focal length of 40 mm and a maximum aperture of f / 2.0. The model is released for Nikon Z mirrorless cameras and belongs to the category of inexpensive amateur optics. On cameras with an APS-C matrix, the focal length of the lens will be 60 mm. The optical design of the fix is extremely simple - it has 6 elements that are combined into 4 groups.

At the same time, the module has a 9-blade diaphragm, which potentially provides natural bokeh rendering. Nikon Nikkor Z 40mm f / 2.0 is equipped with a stepping motor for autofocus, providing focusing from a distance of 29 cm. For ease of video shooting, the "breathing effect" in the lens was minimized. The model has only one control ring near the front frame — it can be assigned functions of aperture, manual focusing, ISO change or exposure correction of the frame. The fixed lens has a thread for 52 mm diameter filters. Its body dimensions are 70x46 mm, and its weight is 170 g.
