A full-size ATX motherboard that stands out from the general range of MSI PRO products. While most devices in this series are entry-level and intended for use in office systems, this model is more suitable for workstations and gaming PCs. The manufacturer claims that its advanced technical capabilities will be an excellent choice for developers, designers, layout designers, animators and other representatives of the creative industry who need a powerful, reliable and modern system for their work.

Like all members of the PRO family, the circuit design of the MSI PRO Z790-A MAX WIFI involves the use of durable capacitors, compacted PCB, heat-resistant power switches, specialized latches and additional cooling of critical areas. To install the processor, an LGA 1700 socket is provided, the service life of which Intel has extended by another cycle, adding support for 14th generation Intel Core processors Raptor Lake Refresh.

Thanks to this approach, for the first time, Intel fans can choose between three different generations of processors (note: Alder Lake, Raptor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh). The digital 18-phase power converter has a large safety margin and is ready to work even with a very powerful and hot Core i7 14700K chip. In addition, the device supports connecting water pumps and LED strips, which brings it closer to specialized solutions for gamers.

The board can work with RAM of the new DDR5 format, which should become an industry standard in the next year or two. In total, it can accommodate up to 4 DDR5 modules with a total capacity of 192 GB and a maximum frequency of 7800 MHz. XMP makes it easy to tune and optimize memory for maximum performance without having to manually adjust timing and voltage settings. The integration of the fourth generation PCI-E bus makes it possible to create a disk subsystem based on high-speed M.2 SSD drives. In terms of graphics outputs, the board is equipped with HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4, ensuring full compatibility with all current high-definition TVs and monitors.
