It uses P-cores with Lion Cove architecture and E-cores Skymont. A separate NPU block with a performance of 13 TOPS.
Lack of Hyper-Threading support for both types of cores.

A family of advanced processors based on the Arrow Lake architecture (3 nm process technology) and tailored for the next-generation LGA 1851 processor socket, due out in 2024. According to the manufacturer, they represent a radical update to Intel's product range, which, in addition to architectural improvements, should mark a new era for the brand's desktop processors. Therefore, for the first time in many years, the company changed the name of the line from the familiar Intel Core to Core Ultra.

The Core Ultra 7 series includes several related processors with a similar core layout, including 8 high-performance Lion Cove P-cores and 12 energy-efficient Skymont E-cores. The P-cores operate at a base frequency of 4.2 GHz and can be overclocked to 5.2 GHz, while the E-cores operate at 3.3 GHz with the ability to boost to 4.6 GHz. The L3 cache size is 24 MB. At the same time, Intel refused to support Hyper-Threading technology, as a result of which the number of simultaneous data streams became lower than that of the previous generation of Intel Core processors, limited to 20 streams.

According to Intel, this is due to an increase in the total number of cores, an increase in specific performance per core and a desire to reduce the overall power consumption of Core Ultra processors. Instead, Intel focused on the development of artificial intelligence technologies, equipping Core Ultra 7 processors with a separate NPU block with a declared capacity of 13 TOPS.

It should accelerate the processor's performance when generating texts, processing photos and videos and solving other AI tasks that will be implemented in Microsoft Copilot. The Core Ultra 7 series also has improvements in the operation of integrated Intel Arc GPUs, supports fast DDR5-6400 RAM and can use the PCIe 5.0 interface to increase the speed of data exchange with other PC components.
