Affordable 144Hz IPS Gaming Monitor
Gaming monitors with Full HD and high refresh rates are still the most popular solution among gamers. Until recently, all such displays were equipped exclusively with TN + Film matrices, which have significant drawbacks in terms of colour stability and picture quality in general. Until, finally, in 2019, demanding gamers waited for affordable gaming IPS models with FullHD resolution and high refresh rates. One of the first such swallows was the 27-inch Asus VG279Q.
GamePlus and Shadow Boost integration
The strengths of the monitor include excellent colour reproduction, standard colour gamut (72% of NTSC space) and large viewing angles without distortion and a sharp drop in picture brightness. The refresh rate is 144Hz, which has become the standard for a gaming monitor, and the matrix response time is just 3ms. In addition to this, support for AMD FreeSync frame synchronization, a Low Blue Light luminosity reduction function, and several purely gaming chips are announced. GamePlus mode allows you to display crosshair, timer, FPS counter, etc., while the Shadow Boost feature automatically highlights especially dark scenes.
Installed in any position
Ergonomic design is also a plus: thin frames look modern, a stylish stand allows you to adjust the height with an angle of inclination (and switch the monitor to portrait mode), and a set of connection ports even includes an old DVI-D. Plus there is a VESA mount that allows you to hang the display on the wall. Of the serious disadvantages during the review, we found only a slight uneven backlight on a bright field. Otherwise, the display is perfectly tuned, pleases with a familiar design from more expensive counterparts in the manufacturer's lineup, high quality workmanship and fairly wide features.
