Modern monitor from Asus
At the end of 2019, Asus updated its TUF monitor line with an interesting 27-inch TUF Gaming VG27VQ model with a curved screen, thin side frames and HDR support. According to the vendor, the novelty is perfect for fans of dynamic shooters or racing games, as well as professional cybersportsmen.
ASUS Game Plus
The monitor is based on a curved VA-matrix with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and a curvature radius of 1500R. Given the positioning of the device, the display has an increased refresh rate of 165 Hz, a response time of 4 ms and supports FreeSync synchronization technology, which prevents so-called frame tearing in dynamics. At the same time, the user's eyes are protected by Flicker-Free and Ultra-Low Blue Light systems, which reduce monitor flicker and the negative impact of blue light on the eyes. Not without the ASUS GamePlus gaming complex familiar from previous monitors of the company. It includes a timer, an FPS counter, a fixed crosshair, an image alignment tool in multi-display configurations, and a Shadow Boost feature to highlight particularly dark areas of the screen.
Ergonomics for 5+
Separately, the ergonomics and a set of additional functions begs for compliments. Firstly, this is a rare gaming monitor with the ability to connect via DVI-D (in addition to the usual HDMI and DisplayPort). Secondly, it has a really convenient stand that allows you to adjust the monitor both in height and inclination, and even switch it to portrait mode when paired with another monitor. Thirdly, the model is equipped with a pair of built-in two-watt speakers. Their quality is not God knows what, but if there are no speakers or headphones at hand, they can help out.
Considering the “slightly $300” price tag, it looks like we got an extremely good gaming monitor with a high-quality matrix, the most thoughtful ergonomics and, most importantly, without any obvious weaknesses.
