True, outwardly it is no different from the models of the last few years, but the main treasure is hidden inside - the proprietary M2 processor. He replaced the M1, which at one time became a real discovery and deservedly received a lot of positive feedback from critics and users. But there is no limit to perfection, so with the updated model, Apple promises an increase of 15% and 35% in terms of CPU and GPU compared to its predecessor. The average user is unlikely to feel this difference, since the M1 and M2 are so powerful that they can easily cope with demanding games at maximum settings, complex tasks and normal daily work. We can safely say that tablets with these chips have reached the level of laptops, so if you prefer this form factor, you can rest assured of their capabilities.

Otherwise, the Apple iPad Pro 11 2022 is very similar to the previous model – it’s probably not for nothing that Apple didn’t hold a presentation for it, but announced the new product using a regular press release. Apparently, she was guided by this principle: why change something that works and sells so well? The device is equipped with an 11-inch Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2388x1668 pixels, ProMotion adaptive refresh rate up to 120 Hz and True Tone automatic brightness control. This is one of the best displays at the time of release, on which it is a pleasure to watch movies or series, draw and work.

The cameras also did not change, since they are already catching up with smartphones in terms of the quality of filming. The main one includes 12MP wide-angle and 10MP ultra-wide lenses, as well as LiDAR for fast autofocus and 3D scanning in various applications. The 12MP front camera comes in handy during video calls and conferences and boasts a Center Stage feature that focuses on you and changes the image as you move (as long as you stay within the ultra-wide field of view, of course).

Other characteristics are the same: a rather thin metal case, up to 10 hours of battery life on a single battery charge, Face ID unlocking, 5 studio-quality microphones, 4 stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and, traditionally, the absence of a 3.5 mm audio jack and a slot for memory cards. At the same time, the manufacturer added support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

Feel the Apple Pencil

Another interesting feature of the model was new opportunities when working with the 2nd generation Apple Pencil stylus. Now the tablet predicts the touch of the pencil when it is still in the air at a distance of up to 12 mm from the screen. That is, you will see the point of contact even before you do it. Artists, illustrators, and graphic designers will love this feature, but keep in mind that the Apple Pencil, along with the Magic Keyboard and Smart Keyboard Folio, are sold separately.

To sum up, the updated iPad Pro is not much different from the previous model, but if you don’t have a tablet with Apple’s proprietary chip yet, it will be a real find and will pay back every penny spent (and the prices, to be honest, “bite”).
