— proteins based on proteins derived from soy. The main advantage of such products is that this is perhaps the only option acceptable for vegetarians. But in terms of overall effectiveness, soy proteins are usually inferior to other varieties (the same whey), besides, they have some side effects — in particular, some estrogenic activity. It is due to the content of substances similar to the "female" hormone estrogen, which is safe for women but not very desirable for men. However, the severity of this effect depends on the degree of purification — the fewer impurities, the lower the estrogenic activity, and in advanced brands it may be completely absent.
