Synthesizers with octave shift
— the ability to transpose the sound in the synthesizer one or more octaves up or down. This feature allows you to hit low or high notes that are initially outside the keyboard — an important feature, given that full-size keyboards with 88 keys are not often found in synthesizers. In addition, octave shifting can be useful in order to play a “shifted” part on the same keys as a normal part without having to re-tune.
