Opening with one hand

— the ability to open a folding knife with the same hand in which it is held. The simplest version of this design is a blade with a thumb peg; however, there are more advanced options, such as OTF, Emerson hook (see relevant paragraphs) or butterfly design (see "Type"). However, anyway, this feature will be indispensable in situations where the second hand is occupied — for example, if you need to hold on to something.
