Self-propelled lawn mowers

 

— self-propelled lawn mowers: the engine turns not only the working attachment, but also the wheels. In this way, the machine does not have to be pushed by hand, which greatly simplifies the work — especially in the case of heavy equipment. On the other hand, self-propelled units require more powerful engines than non-self-propelled ones (part of the power must go to the wheels) — and this affects the dimensions and fuel / electricity consumption. In addition, this feature complicates and increases the cost of the design, and during operation, you need to carefully control the movement. So among traditional lawn mowers (see “Device”), mostly advanced models, quite powerful and heavy, have a self-propelled design. Mowers, mini tractors and robots are, by definition, self-propelled — this is due to the design and application features; but for trimmers and combisystems, this function is in principle not applicable.
