Cordless lawn mowers
From battery
— lawn mowers equipped with electric motors powered by their own built-in battery.Electric motors (with any type of power supply) have a number of advantages over gasoline ones. They are simple, inexpensive, relatively light and compact, require virtually no maintenance, have a lower noise level, do not produce exhaust gases, and are cheaper both in themselves and in operating costs (electricity costs significantly less than gasoline). And battery-powered devices also have advantages such as the absence of a power cord and the ability to work regardless of whether there are outlets nearby — the battery would be charged. At the same time, the charge is rarely enough for more than half an hour, and a dead battery needs to be charged — which will require not only an outlet, but also a lot of time. Also note that battery models in general have very limited power and performance, and other things being equal, they are much heavier and more expensive than analogs powered by a wall outlet.
In light of all this, it makes sense to purchase a battery unit in cases where relatively simple and small-scale work is expected, but battery life and the absence of a wire are crucial. Also note that this type of power supply is used in all robotic lawnmowers (see "Type") — gasoline engines are not suitable for them, and battery life is extremely important. Actually, largely because of the battery power, robotic lawnmowers do not differ in special power and performance.
