— the fundamental principle of operation in dynamic ribbon microphones is the same as in classical ones — the generation of an electrical signal due to vibrations of a certain part connected to the membrane and suspended in a magnetic field. However, in this case, the role of such a part is played not by a coil, but by a thin metal tape. Such tapes are much lighter than coils, as a result of which it is possible to achieve a uniform amplitude-frequency response and accurate sound transmission over the entire operating range without much effort. At the same time, such microphones are also characterized by a number of disadvantages — in particular, high cost, large size, heavy weight and specific requirements for the amplifier (due to low input impedance). Because of this, the tape construction is today mainly the prerogative of high-end models, mainly studio ones.dynamic (ribbon) | clear | Save List |
