Microphones with anti-shock suspension

 

— the anti-shock suspension plays the role of a shock absorber — it dampens various shocks of the stand or other base on which the microphone is installed. This feature is especially important for studio recording: high-quality studio microphones are able to respond not only to strong vibrations (for example, from a heavy truck or tram passing behind a wall), but even to the steps of people in the next room, introducing distortions into the sound. Installing on the "spider" prevents these distortions, but it is not always available — in such cases, a microphone with an anti-shock suspension in the kit will come in handy.
