Plastic microphones

 

— an inexpensive and lightweight material, completely insensitive to moisture, plastic has average strength characteristics — sufficient for most tasks, but at the same time inferior to metal. Therefore, it is most often used in compact microphones (lavalier, head, computer, etc., see “Intended use”), for which light weight and lightness in creating complex-shaped cases are more important than high reliability and resistance to shock and pressure. But among models that have a large size — for example, vocal or instrumental (see ibid.) — such cases are typical for entry-level devices.
