Night vision monoculars
— night vision devices equipped with one optical system of an eyepiece and a lens and, accordingly, designed for viewing with one eye. On the one hand, this does not provide a three-dimensional image, as in binoculars, and closing one eye is not always convenient. On the other hand, many monoculars with a small magnification allow use with two eyes open, so that the operator receives both the “night” and the “picture” of the area visible to the ordinary eye; and some can even be attached to the weapon as a night sight attachment. But even without these features, monoculars are usually lighter and cheaper than binoculars, and they are also suitable even for people who cannot see normally with both eyes.
