2.4 GHz Wi-Fi equipment
2.4 GHz only
— devices using the 2.4 GHz band only. Wi-Fi standards 802.11b and 802.11g operate at this frequency, and this is also one of the operating ranges for 802.11n.Note that recently there has been a trend towards the transition of Wi-Fi devices to higher frequencies — 5 GHz and 60 GHz. This is due, firstly, to the relatively low bandwidth of 2.4 GHz channels, and secondly, to the “congestion” of the air and an abundance of interference: Bluetooth transmitters, microwave ovens and some other types of radio electronic devices operate in the same range. However, this range is still very popular, and even in new gadgets, its support is usually provided for compatibility.
