USB sound cards

USB-A

— connection via a standard USB port. Until recently, this was the most popular interface for external peripherals, found in virtually all PCs and laptops. Most external sound cards were made for USB. The downside of this connection method is that USB ports might be needed for other devices, leading to problems when there are few ports and an abundance of peripherals. On the other hand, such situations do not occur very often, and having a USB splitter (hub) on hand is sufficient to resolve them.

It is worth noting that full-sized USB ports in modern PCs and laptops have been replaced by more compact USB-C.
