— rods designed for fishing from a boat using the trolling method — pulling bait in tow behind a boat, boat, etc. With such a pull, the fishing rod is installed on a special mount and only after a bite is taken in hand; the withdrawal of the bait to the required distance is carried out not due to casting, but due to its movement in the water; and prey rushes can be quite strong even at small sizes. All this determined the design features of boat rods: they are distinguished by a short length (about 2 m) combined with high strength.
