— handles made of ordinary (not foamed) plastic are rare, mainly in small winter rods. This is due to the fact that for a number of reasons it is more convenient to use cork or foamed polymers in larger rods, but for winter use such materials may not be reliable enough, while ordinary plastic is optimal.
